Money, Money, MO-NEY!

Today, I dove into Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover.  Although I do not have debt beyond student loans, the debt that I do have is enough to last me for a while.  I am going to see what I can do about knocking that debt out as quickly as possible.

My parents are DIE HARD fans of Dave Ramsey.  They basically do whatever he says.  Which has worked well for them:).  As a Christmas gift, the bro and I both got the Dave Ramsey starter kit thingy.  It had a few books, the envelope system, some DVDs and a nice start for an emergency fund (compliments of Ma and Pa).  It has taken me nearly half of a year to find time to dive in, but I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.

I am the kind of person who enjoys earning money and saving money.  I don't really have serious weaknesses like shoes, clothes, etc. to get in the way, but somehow I still manage to spend more than I "should."  I am generally financially responsible, but I can admit that my savings will definitely increase if I commit to being consciously aware of my spending habits.  I am known to get a mild case of what my mom and I like to call "frugality fatigue."  It's when you just get a little tired of not spending money.  It typically results in a small shopping spree and a large amount of guilt.  If I can push through the "frugality fatigue", this plan will work wonders!

Here's to the total annihilation of the student loans in less than 4 years!  Wish me luck:)
