Bugh.

If you know me well, you know that I despise hot and humid weather.  Today is one of those days that makes you want to get all whisper-y and say "I kind of miss winter."  Shh.  Don't tell.

Although winter can be filled with snow, slush, dry skin, wet shoes and sickness, I think I would choose it over summer.  In the winter the sun shines brighter, the snow sparkles, there are no bugs, it is not humid, the air is crisp and birds don't poop on your (newly washed) car.

Don't get me wrong, there are parts of summer that I enjoy.  I enjoy not needing to take a deep breath in anticipation of bitter cold air when walking outside.  I enjoy flip-flops more than the average person.  I enjoy wearing my favorite pair of jeans that are too short to wear like a normal person so I cuff them into cropped pants.  I enjoy water activities.  I enjoy cold things like popsicles and iced chai lattes.  I enjoy the freedom that comes from walking out the door without an additional 15 pounds of winter gear.

But, in the midst of all of these wonderful things, I miss sparkling snow, crisp air, fluffy hair that is ruined by humidity, sleeping with the window cracked and using lots of blankets and being able to wear sweatshirts.

I guess it's a good thing that I live in Minnesota.  I am starting to think that this state was made for me.  Or maybe...I was made for this state.
